Company Limited (DYOLL)
Dyoll Insurance Company, Limited, the largest subsidiary
of Dyoll Group Limited, is one of Jamaica’s leading
insurance companies, grossing premium revenues in the
year 2000 of J$819 million.
Dyoll offers the full range of property, liability,
motor and marine insurance coverage and policies are
marketed through its own Customer Service Department,
agents and brokers island-wide, with the lion’s
share of its business being dealt with directly out
of its Knutsford Boulevard offices in Kingston.
 Dyoll
is well known for being proactive in the general insurance
industry and as a member of the Jamaica Association
of General Insurance Companies, has strongly supported
the lobby for the new Insurance Bill which calls for
changes in reporting and performance measurement. This,
the company believes, will enhance the industry’s
ability to have a level and well regulated playing field.
Dyoll had its beginnings in the early 1940s as a small
broking firm, Dyoll Limited, which placed business at
Lloyd’s in London through Pickford, Watson &
Dawson. Its steady growth and development coincided
with Jamaica’s attainment of independence in 1962,
at which time it was decided that the environment was
right for the formation of a full Jamaican company.
Dyoll Insurance Company, Limited emerged on January
1, 1965 and soon became a 100% owned Jamaican organization.On
April 1, 1978, Dyoll acquired the Jamaica Cooperative
Fire and General Company Limited, the oldest general
insurance company in the island at that time, thus solidifying
its position in the local general insurance market.
The company places great emphasis on research, development
and the introduction of new products and services that
will make general insurance affordable and available
to all who need it. Dyoll Blue is one such product that
will be introduced to the market in July, 2002.
As of Monday, July 1, 2002, Dyoll Insurance Company
entered a new phase of development as the baton of leadership
was passed to new Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Thwaites
who brings over 13 years of experience in the General
Insurance Industry to the position.
